The Chronic Foundation is committed to helping drive initiatives, organisations and businesses that improve care and treatment for people with chronic conditions.
As a foundation, we work by building bridges between start-ups and global brands, business and Government, NGO and patient, the Chronic Foundation dedicates its resources to:
The Chronic Foundation operates on a not-for-profit basis as a social enterprise. It was formed in 2003.
The Foundation concentrates its efforts in three broad areas: Market Development, Communications (Marketing and Behavioural Change), and Brokering / Networking. It continues to focus on diabetes and other chronic conditions where the potential for patient self-management is greatest.
The Chronic Foundation focusses on improving outcomes for chronic condition sufferers by supporting innovation and disruption, by galvanising business interest with clinical / psychological resources and patient need, and by stimulating new thought – commercial and behavioural.
We address directly, and with interested partners, areas of health and wellbeing requiring further exploration, development and deliverables – often linking small innovators with large sponsors and investors, or inventors with clinical challenges.
Ultimately, we do all this to the benefit of those with chronic conditions, thus serving them and their “wellbeing” value chain.
The enterprise is the brainchild of two entrepreneurs with extensive experience of building new businesses for large corporate IT, Media, and Communications partners. They have founded a number of businesses of their own over the period of their partnership — 30 years. Neill Macklin and Hugo Tewson are both diabetics.
Chronic has an exceptional network of experts who are pulled together as relevant for specific project teams.
